Here's a connection for ya: a couple of the voice artists in both these series -- Billie Lou Watt and Ray Owens -- also featured in the English-language dubs for the '60s versions of Astro Boy and Kimba. (So they've been in the biz for a while...)

What's more to say about it, these were the shows we just had to see and tried to figure out this thing called The Bible in the process!

My Sunday School skipped over Flying House and Superbook on rainy days for some reason, but they did have a set of "Swiss Family Robinson," which was probably the World Masterpiece Theater series "Flone of the Mysterious Island," although I can't find a copy of the English opening to confirm. I vaguely remember it ending on a Christian-esque moral note each episode, but whether that was in the original or merely the dub, I can't say.Interesting if there was an English version of that one.

Too often you find those rare anime gems on Christian channels in those days. I was just thinking of this program again for starters...
