Wow, was that colored with 'dollar store' markers or what?

I recall when the first issue of the comic came out there was some ballyhoo about it being 'animation cel' coloring or some nonsense but that book and record thing is scary.

and a little dirty. Rick Hunter, if the lady tells you to pull out... ahh, nevermind.

Oh my gaaaaahk. I purposefully blotted out my memories of how godawful that art was and now they've come roaring back. I cannot tell you how furious it made me back then to see such a significant assignment handed off to someone with no arms. It made me even more furious when I realized a blind editor hired that artist for multiple consecutive issues. I like to think such a thing would never fly today, but...

It BURNS!

Seriously, I want names. Did Reggie Byers draw this?

(Edit: I saw this on cassette once upon a time -- should've bought it for easy mockery later...)

I work around the corner from the person who edited the Comico Robotech books. She says, however, that she was decidedly not the person who hired the artists ^_^

The Robotech comics were so badly done that I decided to draw my own--that's how desperate I was. I guess it's not strange when you think about it, but the approach that seemed logical to me was that of the Futabasha anime film comics I had--that is, pages composed of panels composed of stills, with word balloons added.

The irony of six-hour speed on a VHS was that it provided the sharpest freeze-frames. So, five minutes at a time, I sat in front of my recording of "The Invid Invasion" (because Comico hadn't gotten that far yet), and did my best to draw the episode shot-for-shot. I don't think I got as far as the commercial break, but I do have some pages of it somewhere...

I totally got the Shatner voice in my head while reading this - anyone else?

Nice work.

I have these! I even converted them to MP3! The audio was horribly edited and whoever wrote them had so many things wrong. It's a laff riot! I must admit that I am enamored with them since I found them in the 90's when Robotech was in a 'dry spell'. It was a great (if not cheesy) find.
I am wirting a blog about Harmony Gold's licensing and thought I should include it. My blog is RobotechNow.blogspot.com
