SUPERBOOK EASTER!!
FLYING HOUSE SALOME DANCE!!
TILTON!!1!!
Whew... glad that's settled.
SPECIAL BONUS: WHAT BIBLE EDITION STARRING ANIME CHARACTERS WOULD JESUS READ?
The Flying House Bible, of course. Starring Corky!
And this makes Tilton happy.
Remember kids - Superbook and Flying House say JESUS IS JUST ALL RIGHT WITH THEM!
(actual dialog in this scene: "Hey it's Jesus!!"
This is of course not to be confused with the religious animation of Hikyou-Kisei Studios, including their famous show Genki no Bakagai no Eluron.

Wow, when I travel back to Jesus times, I too want to unwittingly assist in the betrayal of a prophet!
I wonder if Flying House is based on a Calvinist perspective. I have a theory, but it's in the tentative stage.
In the latest recorded-yet-unreleased episode of AWO, one of our listeners asked us about Superbook and Flying House. I'll see to it that we edit in mention of this post as providing all the answers he truly requires.
But where da robots at?
My Sunday School skipped over Flying House and Superbook on rainy days for some reason, but they did have a set of "Swiss Family Robinson," which was probably the World Masterpiece Theater series "Flone of the Mysterious Island," although I can't find a copy of the English opening to confirm. I vaguely remember it ending on a Christian-esque moral note each episode, but whether that was in the original or merely the dub, I can't say.
Ok, this is just weird. I just posted reviews of 2 Jack Chick themed DVDs over at animehell.org
I guess he moves in mysterious ways after all.
What's more to say about it, these were the shows we just had to see and tried to figure out this thing called The Bible in the process!

Too often you find those rare anime gems on Christian channels in those days. I was just thinking of this program again for starters...

I want to see a Flying House and Flying Phantom Ship mash-up

Ah, Superbook and The Flying House. I remember watching both of those shows. Also, that anime bible is actually kind of neat; I wouldn't mind getting a hold of one.
omg =)) nice post
Here's a connection for ya: a couple of the voice artists in both these series -- Billie Lou Watt and Ray Owens -- also featured in the English-language dubs for the '60s versions of Astro Boy and Kimba. (So they've been in the biz for a while...)
Can anyone tell me where to download a copy of Flying Hose and SuperBook? I want to see all episodes.
I MUST HAVE THAT BIBLE.
I ALSO MUST HAVE THAT BIBLE!
If anybody likes this series enough to edit an encyclopedia about it, I made one at http://flyinghouse.wikia.com.
